Despite never publicly endorsing Biden, Taylor Swift is currently MAGA’s favorite enemy, and things are getting out of control with conspiracy theories and right-wing celebrities trashing the pop star.
Trump’s lawyer got into the mix
Alina Habba, who represented Trump at the recent defamation trial in New York, reposted a meme saying, “Who thinks this country needs a lot more women like Alina Habba, and a lot less like Taylor Swift?” But Vivek Ramaswamy went a few steps further.
Ramaswamy’s theory was prompted by another post
The former GOP presidential hopeful, who endorsed Trump, responded to a post shared by @JackPosobiec that stated, “Thinking about when Taylor Swift called out the Soros family in 2019 for buying the rights to her music and then how she came out a super liberal in 2020.” Ramaswamy inserted Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, into his “wild speculation.”
“Wild speculation”
Ramaswamy wrote, “I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month. And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall. Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months.”
Fox News vs. Swift
In early January 2024, Fox News host Jesse Watters suggested Swift could be “a front for a covert political agenda.” He told the viewers during Jesse Watters Primetime that “around four years ago, the Pentagon’s psychological operations unit floated, turning Taylor Swift into an asset.”
Pentagon got involved
“It’s real. The Pentagon psyop unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset for combating misinformation online,” said Watters. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh jokingly responded, “As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off.”
Quoting songs
The Rolling Stone reported an interesting email from Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller. He wrote, “Joe Biden might be counting on Taylor Swift to save him, but voters are looking at these sky-high inflation rates and saying, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.'”
MAGA does not want Swift in politics
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro warned Taylor Swift not to get involved in politics. The host stated, “Don’t get involved in politics; we don’t want to see you there.” Pirro added, “Joe Biden is in [a] hole with young people; he knows it. And if he thinks Taylor can get him out of that hole, he’s gonna go for it.”
“It’s all fake”
Benny Johnson, a right-wing media personality, asserted, “It’s all fake. You’re being played.” Laura Loomer, another right-wing influencer, shared, “The Democrats’ Taylor Swift election interference psyop is happening in the open.” She continued, “It’s not a coincidence that current and former Biden admin officials are propping up Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. They are going to use Taylor Swift as the poster child for their pro-abortion GOTV Campaign.”
Swift’s involvement in politics
Apart from calling people to vote, the singer/songwriter was never big on supporting candidates. However, during the 2018 midterms, she endorsed two Tennessee Democrats and said she regretted staying silent in 2016.
It does not help that Kelce was pro-Covid vaccine
A Salem Media host, Mike Crispi, stated, “The NFL is totally RIGGED for the Kansas City Chiefs, Taylor Swift, Mr. Pfizer.” Kelce was featured in Pfiezer ad. Crispi continued, “All to spread DEMOCRAT PROPAGANDA. Calling it now: KC wins, goes to Super Bowl, Swift comes out at the halftime show and ‘endorses’ Joe Biden with Kelce at midfield.”
Taylor Swift’s “witchcraft”
Georgia republican Kandiss Taylor previously wrote on X, “I know you’ve claimed to love Jesus. I know you claimed to be a Christian. Now, you’ve not only drifted and backslid. You’re influencing innocent minds to be enticed with the dark side of spirituality. I am so beyond disappointed.”
Ron Filipkowski, a conservative Never Trump lawyer, joked, “Taylor Swift’s witchcraft is certainly working for the Chiefs.”
Kandiss Taylor’s theories started a long time ago
In previous months, Taylor shared on Swift, “You have been gifted a HUGE platform. It didn’t just happen. God breathed on this,” and warned, “He can remove His hand and leave you to the witchcraft and your own devices. Let’s see how much Lucifer cares about you or your career. I promise. He doesn’t.”
Charlie Kirk joined
Trump ally Charlie Kirk warned, “Taylor Swift is going to come out in the presidential election, and she is going to mobilize her fans… Taylor Swift, I think she put up one voter registration link, and she registered millions and millions, and let’s just be honest, all the Swifties want is swift abortion. We act as if she is like Mother Mary or something. Newsflash, she ain’t Mother Mary.”
