Electing Trump as GOP Candidate Would Be “Suicide For Our Country”, Haley Warns

While Nikki Haley has no clear path to win the GOP nomination, she is using her platform to warn Republicans that Trump will not win in the general election, alleging that he is trying to “get out of some sort of legal peril.”

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Haley, a two-time South Carolina governor, and former UN ambassador, pointed out Trump’s vulnerabilities while stating, “This may be his survival mode to pay his legal fees and get out of some sort of legal peril, but this is like suicide for our country.”

Haley continued, “We’ve got to realize that if we don’t have someone who can win a general election, all we are doing is caving to the socialist left.” Despite being crashed in every Republican primary, Haley vowed to stay in the race, though it might only be until Super Tuesday or March 5.

Haley declared, “I’m doing what I believe 70% of Americans want me to do.” Though she does not have votes, Haley is correct – ABC News/Ipsos poll reported that “leading presidential candidates are also viewed broadly unfavorably.” Previous polls found that the 2020 rematch between Biden and Trump is viewed as “exhausting” for most voters.

Haley pledged to endorse a Republican candidate who gets chosen as a nominee. When asked about backing the nominee, Haley said, “What I will tell you is that I have serious concerns about Donald Trump,” adding, “I have more serious concerns about Joe Biden.”

Haley noted, “You have to see the writing on the wall, you have to see the hole in the ship,” and added, “And if you don’t see the hole in the ship, we’re all going to go down.”

A recent poll by Quinnipiac University revealed that Biden is 4 points ahead of Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup. However, according to the same polling, Haley is 3 points ahead of Biden.

Speaking to Fox News about the third party or No Labels platform, Haley said, “I’ve been a conservative Republican my whole life. I’m not going to switch over and have a Democrat vice president. That’s not something I would do.” She added, “My heart has always been with the Republican Party and this country.”

Following the South Carolina loss, the conservative Koch network stated it would no longer support Haley. Americans for Prosperity Action will continue to endorse Haley while refocusing resources on the Senate and House of Representatives.

In a Truth Social post, the former president wrote, “AMERICAN’S FOR NO PROSPERITY JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTING NIKKI ‘BRAINDEAD’ (BIRDBRAIN?) HALEY. CHARLES KOCH AND HIS GROUP GOT PLAYED FOR SUCKERS RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING!”

Haley’s Prediction

In a CNN interview, Haley predicted that the US will get a female president soon, and it will be either her or VP Kamala Harris. She added, “There’s a reason that Democrats are salivating at the thought of Donald Trump. Because they look at it, and they know anybody can beat Donald Trump.”

“This is America”

While on CNN, Haley said, “This is America where people can have their voices heard. This is America that was built on faith, family, and country. I am trying to remind us of our purpose and who we are as Americans in the first place. Not a divided country, not a divided party, not a country seeped in anger, but filled with hope and energy. That’s what I’m going to keep fighting for.”

Haley wrote on X on February 27, “I’m not doing this for a political career. I’m doing this for my kids. And all of your kids and grandkids. They’re wondering how they’re gonna make ends meet. They’re fearful of more war breaking out. And they deserve to know what normal feels like.”
