The president of the Heritage Foundation, Kevin Roberts, said in a New York Times interview that he thinks Joe Biden did not win the 2020 elections but insists he’s “no conspiracy theorist at all.” Still, he did not fully reject Biden’s victory.

The Heritage Foundation president spoke to Lulu Garcia-Navarro from the New York Times. The journalist asked him whether he believed President Biden won the 2020 elections, to which Roberts gave an extensive answer, starting with a simple “No.”

When Garcia-Navarro asked Roberts why, he said, “I think there are unknowns. I don’t know the outcome, but that’s why I can’t say yes definitively. And I am no conspiracy theorist at all, as some of the election-integrity people on the right will tell you. Still a lot of unknowns about two counties in Arizona, multiple counties in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin.”

Roberts continued, “Is it possible he won? Sure. But can I say definitively that he won? No. Having said that, I was very vocal at the end of 2020 and early 2021 that that’s what we knew, and the election needed to be certified. And so, let’s move on.”

Still doubtful

When pressed, Roberts continued, “We have an election fraud database at Heritage that shows a lot of instances of fraud. What I’m not saying is that the examples in that database prove that Biden didn’t win. I’m not certain that he won.”

Roberts and the World Economic Forum

The president of the Heritage Foundation was invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He penned an op-ed for The Blaze in which Roberts expressed, “Davos must accept the moral virtues, practical benefits, and natural rights of nations, families, and individuals to govern themselves.”

At the WEF, Roberts spoke on a panel entitled “What to expect from a possible Republican administration,” Roberts was joined by a former Senator, Rob Portman, professor Walter Russell Mead, and Gerard Baker from the Wall Street Journal.

“Absurd”

Roberts stated, “It’s laughable that you or anyone would describe Davos as ‘protecting liberal democracy,'” adding, “It’s equally laughable to use the word ‘dictatorship’ at Davos and aim that at President Trump. I think that’s absurd.”

“I’ll be candid here because I think I’ve been invited here to be candid: The kind of person who will come into the next conservative administration is going to be governed by one principle, and that is destroying the grasp that political elites and unelected technocrats have over the average person,” Roberts stated.

The Heritage Foundation president praised DeSantis

Following the WEF and NY Times interview, Roberts took time to praise DeSantis on X. He wrote, “Governor DeSantis has an extremely bright future in the conservative movement. While we all rally around our movement’s leader—President Trump—we also know that the future of conservative policies will be in how effectively we implement Trumpian conservatism. “

Roberts continued, “There is no one, other than President Trump himself, who has done more in that regard than Gov. DeSantis, so I thank him immensely for showing what the future of our movement—and the country—is. Now, let’s go take back this country, united and resolved, on behalf of the forgotten American.”
