Haley Slams Trump After He Confuses Her with Pelosi

While talking to supporters in New Hampshire, Nikki Haley blasted Trump, saying, “We can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this.” This came after the former president confused Haley with Pelosi while discussing the events of January 6, 2021.

Following Ron DeSantis’ exit, Nikki Haley remains the last person standing between Trump and the GOP’s presidential nomination. Speaking to the crowds in Keene, New Hampshire, the former ambassador stated, “We see that (President Joe) Biden has changed so much in two years.” Then she turned her attention to Trump’s gaffe.

The great confusion

Haley continued, “Last night, Trump was at a rally, and he’s going on and on mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots. Why didn’t I handle January 6 better? I wasn’t even in D.C. on January 6. I wasn’t in office then.”

The presidential hopeful added, “They’re saying he got confused, that he was talking about something else, he’s talking about Nancy Pelosi,” adding, “He mentioned me multiple times in that scenario. The concern I have is — I’m not saying anything derogatory — but when you’re dealing with the pressures of the presidency, we can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this. We can’t.”

The former president held a rally in Concord, New Hampshire, a day before Haley. While talking about January 6, he started with, “Nikki Haley, you know they, do you know they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything, deleted and destroyed all of it.”

The 45th president spoke about his mental capacity during a rally, “I’ll let you know when I go bad. I really think I’ll be able to tell you,” adding, “I feel my mind is stronger now than it was 25 years ago. Is that possible?”

Haley previously urged “mental competency tests”

Haley, 52, who was an ambassador during Trump’s presidency and served as South Carolina Governor, called for a competency test in 2023, right after announcing her candidacy. She said, “We’ll have term limits for Congress. And mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old.”

Haley highlighted the need for younger people in the highest places, saying, “In the America I see, the permanent politician will finally retire.” She continued, “We’ll have term limits for Congress. And mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old.”

Previously, Trump confused Obama and Biden several times. At an event on Veterans Day in Claremont, New Hampshire, Trump called Obama the “current president” but wrote on Truth Social, “I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country.”

Biden’s adviser responded, “Is that also his explanation for not knowing World War II happened? Or that Turkey’s a different country than Hungary?” The adviser joked, “Remember not to inject bleach, kids,” while referring to Trump’s suggestion during the Covid-19 crisis.

Voters are raising eyebrows

Biden and Trump don’t have much in common except growing concerns among voters regarding their advanced ages. A September polling saw that over 70 percent of voters believed Biden was too old for the second term. For Trump, the ABC News polling suggested that 50 percent of voters are worried about his age.
