The Biden campaign launched several videos with puzzling Trump’s statements. Still, one remark left people speechless, with the former president saying at the rally, “We are an institute in a powerful death penalty.”
Trump’s “death penalty” remark
Stephen Colbert shared Trump’s speech in Laconia, New Hampshire. The former president said, “We have become a drug-infested crime-ridden nation,” adding, “Which is incapable of solving even the sollest … smallest problem, the simplest of problems we can no longer solve. We can’t do anything. We are an institute in a powerful death penalty.”
“Trump declared war on the English language”
During his Late Night show intro, Colbert commented how the former president “declared war on the English language.” He then added that Trump’s comments give “a dark and confusing vision of America.”
Haley reminded of some of Trump’s recent gaffes
The GOP’s presidential hopeful said during an event at New Hampshire, “He said multiple times that he ran against President Obama.” Nikki Haley added, “These things happen because, guess what? When you’re 80, that’s what happens.”
Biden used Haley’s clip
On the President’s X account, Biden shared a video of Haley blasting Trump, with a cheeky caption, “I don’t agree with Nikki Haley on everything, but we agree on this much: She is not Nancy Pelosi.” The clip shows Haley explaining Trump’s alleged mental decline after he confused her and Nancy Pelosi during his speech regarding January 6.
Trump’s defence only sparked more concerns
While speaking to Fox News, the former president wanted to blast Haley’s accusations. He said, “When I heard the word ‘cognitive,’ you know, I’ve taken two of them [tests] now,” he continued. “I took one with Doc Ronny who is now, you know, a fantastic White House doctor.” But issue is that Dr. Jackson left the White House during Trump’s presidency, in 2018.
Trump corrected himself
“And a fantastic, uh, congressman from Texas,” Trump said, adding “Admiral. The White House doctor, Jackson, Ronny Jackson. And he’s, uh, now a great congressman from Texas.” Trump continued talking about acing his mental tests.
Scarborough approved the Biden campaign strategy
Joe Scarborough is a fan of the Biden campaign using Trump’s words against him. The MSNBC host said, “Donald Trump loses his mind, forgets what he’s saying, confuses Barack Obama with Joe Biden, confuses World War II with whatever the hell he was confusing. Confuses Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi.”
Driving Trump “crazy”
Morning joe host continued, “The whole world is going to see in three seconds, and they’re going to see in three seconds because they’re on him now. You talk about a tight man-to-man defense, I mean, you cover the White House. What’s happened over the past week or two? I mean, pause, they are really — the rapid response has to be driving Donald Trump crazy.”
More from Biden’s camp
In one video, Trump says, “You have voter ID to buy a loaf of bread. You have, you have ID to buy a loaf of bread.” Another, from Waterloo, Iowa rally, showed Trump saying, “I’m driving over a road where it’s almost all paper. And you know, you can see paper. I know paper. I know cans.”
Trump’s whales
During a campaign stop in New Hampshire Trump bragged how he “aced” the cognitive test, saying, “They always show you the first one like a giraffe, a tiger, a whale. Which one is the whale?” In a TV interview, he described the test, “It’s like, you’ll go, ‘Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.’ So they’d say, ‘Could you repeat that.’ So I said, ‘Yeah. So it’s person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.”
“Woosh! Boom!”
The speech in New Hampshire had Trump saying, “And they calmly walk to us, and ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.… They’ve only got 17 seconds to figure this whole thing out. Boom. OK. Missile launch. Woosh! Boom!” As X user Acyn wrote, “The former president provides an elaborate description of missile defense technology: Ding ding ding ding boom whoosh boom.”
Haley called it “a warning sign”
On Face the Nation, Haley stated, “Don’t be surprised if you have someone that is 80 in office, their mental stability is going to continue to decline. That’s just human nature.” She added, “I don’t know what happened, but it’s enough to send us a warning sign.”
