Trump Announces Plan to Cover America with “Giant Dome” to Protect the Country from “a Hostile Source”

As the Iowa caucus approaches, ex-President Donald Trump conducted rallies over the weekend, where he made various campaign promises. His commitments ranged from solving the war in Ukraine and saving the nation from President Biden’s administration to his latest vow during a rambling, two-hour speech to build a “giant dome.”

At a Saturday rally, former President Donald Trump proposed building a “giant dome” over the U.S. for protection against “hostile sources” should he return to the White House. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has allocated funds to Israel for their “Iron Dome,” a missile defense system that has successfully intercepted numerous rockets.

The ex-president repeatedly criticized his opponents, Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Ambassador Nikki Haley, accusing them of being “bought and paid for by the neocons and the warmongers and the corrupt Washington establishment, the military establishment, and they’ve seen a war they didn’t like.”

Trump addressed the rally, saying, “We’re losing our blood, and we’re losing our treasure all over the world. We want to protect our country.” He then shifted the conversation to a “dome” defense system against hostile missiles, mentioning its growing effectiveness.

Invoking Reagan’s Strategy

He referred to Israel’s “Iron Dome” and the “Star Wars” initiative from Ronald Reagan’s era as examples. He also pointed out that former President Ronald Reagan had a comparable concept during his presidency, which didn’t gain traction because the necessary technology wasn’t available.

A Feasible Goal or Just Fantasy?

Trump contrasted his ambition with 1980s Republican President Ronald Reagan, highlighting technological advancements that make his “giant dome” vision feasible. “We do have the technology now, and we’re going to build a giant dome over our country to protect us from a hostile source,” he argued.

Trump remarked, “I didn’t like it when Ronald Reagan suggested it because we didn’t have the technology.” Trump added it will all be made in the US, and “that’s something that I consider productive.”

Bing, Bing, Bing!

To energize the quiet audience, the current GOP frontrunner gave a short, lively performance, complete with “bing, bing, bing” sounds, while discussing the dome. “You know, when I watch, uh, our guys operate those things, it’s unbelievable. Missile coming in, missile coming in,” Trump said.

“These geniuses sit down. Most of them are, you know, they’re from MIT. But they sit down, bing bing bing bing, boom, ph-she. It’s gone. It’s amazing. I think we could use, do you like that? I mean, isn’t that better than giving other countries billions of dollars? Billions. We’re going to get billions of dollars out of the countries and so they can build a dome, but we don’t have a dome ourselves. We’re going to have the greatest dome ever.”

Questioning Rivals’ Plans

Trump also made a commitment to voters and America if he achieves a presidential victory. “Under my leadership, we will turn the page forever on those foolish, stupid days of never-ending wars. They never ended,” he said

Trump also took jabs at President Joe Biden, who he may face in the upcoming November election, blaming him for economic downturns, border chaos, and the ineffective response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He cautioned that Biden’s re-election could lead to World War III, declaring, “This is our last chance to save America.”
