Truckers in New York City are addressing rumors of a boycott following a legal ruling against former President Donald Trump.
Idea Dismissed

Despite social media calls from Trump supporters for a transport strike following a $355 million fine against Trump by Judge Arthur Engoron, the trucking community is largely dismissing the idea.
Case Against Trump

The lawsuit, initiated by New York Attorney General Letitia James, charged Trump with exaggerating his wealth and asset values to obtain better business loans.
Office Holding Ban

Engoron’s decision also includes a prohibition against Trump holding any officer or director positions in New York businesses for three years, a ruling Trump contests, claiming his innocence.
Social Media’s Boycott Buzz

The verdict led to a flurry of online activity, with some pro-Trump factions urging truckers to boycott deliveries to New York City, aiming to disrupt the local economy.
“I stand with Trump”

“I’m just one of the many millions of Truckers who believe in God and love this Country,” a trucker known as “Chicago Ray,” wrote on X. “I stand with Trump bc Trump stands with me. Truckers for Trump ain’t just a slogan, it’s real.”
Delivery Boycott

Chicago Ray made the statement on February 16 following the ruling, urging fellow truckers to refrain from delivering shipments to New York City.
Denying Loads

Ray added, “I don’t know how far across the country this is or how many truckers are going to start denying loads going to New York City, but I’ll tell you what — you f— around and find out.”
Leave Trump Alone

The truck driver reiterated a caution, asserting that Trump should be left alone and condemning the New York City fraud investigation against him as “election interference.”
Boycott’s Viability

This movement gained traction over the weekend, prompting responses from truckers nationwide, who largely negated the boycott’s viability.
Truckers’ Perspectives on TikTok

A TikTok video by user bluecollar_trucker highlighted the absence of a concerted strike against New York City relating to Trump’s legal troubles. He mentioned other practical concerns like traffic and crime as more significant deterrents to city entry.
Nobody Talked to Me

“This trucker strike, nobody’s talked to me about it and I know a lot of other guys on other platforms like, ‘Yeah, no, we’ve never talked about it either,'” he said.
Not Happening

“So one it’s not happening, there’s no strike against New York City—not over the Trump case, but more and more people are refusing to go because of other issues,” added the truck driver.
Other Concerns

Similarly, samuraiblaq2.0, another trucker, emphasized that the proposed strike against New York City over Trump is not taking place but highlighted ongoing concerns among truckers.
Toll Issue

“The main reason why most truckers are not going to New York City is because of the f****** laws that are put in place,” he stated. “Especially now the fact that we got to pay tolls within the city.”
Greene’s Endorsement

Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also endorsed the truckers’ boycott. She shared a message from a conservative portal, The Gateway Pundit, on social media, indicating that truckers might halt deliveries to New York City.
Threats to Stop Deliveries

Gateway Pundit message stated, “American truckers are now reportedly threatening to stop deliveries into New York City over the grotesque $364 million judgment against President Trump and his sons Don Jr and Eric by partisan hack Judge Engoron on Friday.”
Weaponized Government

The caption of Greene’s post read, “The American people have far more power than they realize, and they can stop the weaponized government when they boldly stand together and make it stop.”
Public Outrage

However, Greene’s support for the strike faces criticism online, with detractors pointing out her misalignment with her congressional duties and accusing her of promoting actions detrimental to Americans.
“Not Your Job”

One user highlighting Greene’s stance on the issue noted, “That’s not your job. Your job, which you took an oath to uphold, is to the American people, not to a man that tried to overthrow the US Government, found liable for rape, impeached twice, and found liable for fraud. You are using your position in government to push an action to hurt good people, therefore, weaponization. #MakeAmericaSafeAgain.”
