Republican Businessmen Vow To Stay Out Of “Loser State” New York

Some conservatives expressed they will no longer conduct business in New York following Judge Engoron’s ruling in Trump’s fraud case. Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary spoke to Fox about this decision.

Canadian investor Kevin O’Leary, a conservative, spoke on Fox News about the ruling that ordered Donald Trump to pay $350 million plus interest and barred him from participating in New York business for three years. O’Leary said, “This award, I mean, just leaving the whole Trump thing out of it and seeing what occurred here … And I’m no different than any other investor; I’m shocked at this.”

O’Leary cannot “rationale” the ruling

The Shark Tank investor continued, “I can’t even understand or fathom the decision at all. There’s no rationale for it.” He then blasted Democratic states, “It doesn’t matter what the governor says; New York was already a loser state, like California is a loser state. There are many loser states because of policies, high taxes, and uncompetitive regulations.”

O’Leary doubled down, “It was already at the top of the list of loser states. I would never invest in New York now, and I’m not the only person saying that.” He continued, “Winner states vs. loser states. Look at Tennessee right now: the fastest-growing city in America is Nashville. Winner state. Good policy, competitive taxes.”

“Zero probability”

“It’s not just the existing businesses that are fleeing out to Texas and Florida. What about new money, like what I’m talking about, like a $4 billion data center? Not a chance I would put that in New York. Zero probability. Never. And so they’ve got a lot of work to do to find themselves getting out of this situation,” O’Leary shared.

The Canadian is worried

O’Leary discussed with Fox anchor Neil Cavuto about New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s assurances to New York business owners, stating, “We’re very worried, every investor is worried because where is the victim? Who lost the money? This is some arbitrary decision a judge made.”

Not about Trump

“I’m sorry her words fall on deaf ears to everybody,” O’Leary continued, “There’s nothing she can say to justify this decision. And this has nothing to do with Trump, nothing to do with Trump. Forget about Trump; this is not a Trump situation; this is a New York problem.”

Sending shock waves

Talking to the Post, the investor said the ruling was “appalling” and “un-American.” He added that the verdict sent a “shock wave”  through the real estate industry. He said he wants the case “reviewed and appealed and turned over because it’s wrong for everybody that participates.”

Following the interview, the former president posted on Truth Social, “Kevin O’Leary is so great, and tells it like it is. Businesses will flee NYC & State after the Corrupt Judge’s ruling!”

But it is not only business people who have problems with New York

Scott Adams, an author, shared on X, “I’m canceling all NYC business trips until the Trump property seizure is reversed. Also no new business with NY entities.” He added, “Too far.”

The author’s book Reframe Your Brain was dropped by the publisher last year after saying on his YouTube channel that white people should “get the hell away from Black people.”

Trump’s children were also fined

Eric and Donald Trump Jr. were fined $4 million, and the former Trump Organization CFO has been fined $1 million. Eric Trump wrote on X, “No other judge would ever have allowed my name to be dragged through the mud. This is not justice in America — this is political vengeance by a judge out to get my father, the frontrunner for President of the United States.”

Trump’s oldest son shared on X, “We’ve reached the point where your political beliefs combined with what venue your case is heard are the primary determinants of the outcome, not the facts of the case!” adding, “It’s truly sad what’s happened to our country and I hope others see it before it’s too late to correct course!”
