Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the fiercest Trump supporters in Congress, talked about Trump’s migration policy in case he was reelected and compared migrants to terrorists.
Greene’s Speech in Iowa
During her speech in Boone, Iowa, the Georgia Republican said, “We have to fight for a secure border, and President Trump will do that, and he will start mass deportations on day 1.” According to The Hill, this statement was met with applause. Encouraged, Greene continued by comparing migrants to terrorists.
Greene Doubled Down
The GOP firebrand continued, “They’re in our country, and you can bet many of them are terrorists who would like to attack our country here just like Israel was attacked by the Hamas terrorists over there.”
Echoing Trump’s Speeches
The former President previously stated he would lawfully remove “all known or suspected gang members, drug dealers or cartel members from the United States.” He also recalled travel bans for people with the majority of Muslim citizens, including Iran, Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Somalia.
Migrants and “poisoning the blood”
Trump, who dominated the GOP primaries, said during a rally in Durham, New Hampshire, that migrants are “poisoning the blood of the country.” This caused comparations with the Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler, who wrote in “Mein Kampf” that “all great cultures of the past perished only because the original creative race died out from blood poisoning.”
Many Agreed with Trump
CBS News analysis reported that most MAGA Republicans agree with the “poisoning the blood” language. The survey concluded, “Republican voters become ten percentage points more likely to agree with the statement when they are explicitly told it came from Trump.”
Greene’s Other Worries
The Georgia lawmaker wrote on X, “Washington is on a desperate last ditch effort to keep funding their losing war against Russia and have been turning the war machine to Iran.” She added, “To Washington, war is good business and feeds the defense industrial base. The media loves it too.”
Trump Will Get “historic numbers”
Greene continued, “Now that they have finally accepted Trump is going to win with historic numbers, they will use war as a campaign strategy.” Then, the Georgia Republican and author of “MTG” stated, “But the next war is going to suck everyone in on a level none of us want and in ways generations of us have never seen in our lifetimes.”
Greene Slammed Aid to Ukraine Numerous Times
Greene previously stated, “I’ve never seen Putin actually show in any detail his plans to invade Europe. No one has shown me that. So I don’t believe the lies that I’m being told about this.” People mocked her for not knowing that Ukraine is part of Europe.
Greene Talks Border Deal
During her Fox News appearance, the Georgia Republican said, “Democrats are going to bring in millions and millions of illegals and turn them into Democrat voters.” She continued, “That’s their plan, to replace Americans with millions and millions of illegal aliens,” and concluded, “They want to do this in exchange for $60 billion more for Ukraine.”
Echoes of the Great Replacement Theory
The Great Replacement Theory is a white nationalist far-right conspiracy claiming that white Americans and Europeans are being actively “replaced” by non-white immigrants. 61% of Trump voters believed in this theory in YuGov’s polling in 2022.
Greene on Speaker Johnson
While on Fox News, Greene told the viewers, “I told Speaker Johnson if he made that deal in exchange for $60 billion for Ukraine, I would vacate the chair.” This comes only months after the new House Speaker took over, though Greene did not say she would vote for Johnson’s outsting.
Trump Won Iowa
Super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. issued a statement after Trump’s victory in Iowa caucuses, “The people of Iowa sent a clear message tonight: Donald Trump will be the next Republican nominee for President. It’s now time to make him the next President of the United States.”
