MAGA Truckers, Called “God’s Army,” is Heading to Stop the Migrants and People are Questioning Their Christian Values

A massive convoy of truckers is heading to the borders, dubbed”God’s Army,” despite President Biden’s promises to “shut down the border” if Congress passes a bipartisan deal. But, the reactions to the convoy are mixed, with some people wondering, “Most of the people crossing the border are Christian, wouldn’t God want them here.”

Former Green Beret Pete Chambers, who reportedly organized the convoy, talked on Infowars with Alex Jones. Chambers described the actions as “domestic internal defense,” explaining, “That’s what Green Berets do. Unconventional warfare is our bread and butter.”

“What gets us to the enemy quickly is to find, fix, and finish, exploit, analyze, and disseminate,” Chambers said, adding, “That’s what we did in Syria when we took out ISIS really quickly.”

Ruth Braunstein, assistant professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut and author of “Prophets and Patriots: Faith in Democracy Across the Political Divide” told Vice, “When people believe that they are working on behalf of God, they might be willing to resort to relatively extreme measures.” But there is another element to add.

The political aspect

Braunstein added, “So you have a politically volatile situation that could become much more so, in part, because of this rhetoric.” The convoy will join a tense border standoff between Texas and the federal government.

Mission against “globalists”

The convoy is set to arrive in Eagle Pass, Texas, on February 3. Their goal is to stop illegal immigration, but as Vice reported, they’re on a mission to stand up against the “globalists,” one of the trackers said. Another added, “This is a biblical, monumental moment that’s been put together by God.”

Fighting against “evil”

Vice reported that the third trucker shared, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. It is time for the remnant to rise,” while another chimed in, “We are besieged on all sides by dark forces of evil.” All this information came at the same time President Biden promised to shut the borders if the bipartisan deal passes Congress.

Enter Trump

Former President Trump was in Nevada during the weekend, where he spoke about the bipartisan bill, “As the leader of our party, there is zero chance I will support this horrible open borders betrayal of America.” He added, “I’ll fight it all the way. A lot of the senators are trying to say, respectfully, they’re blaming it on me. I say that’s okay. Please blame it on me. Please.”

The President said, “A bipartisan bill would be good for America, help fix our broken immigration system, and allow speedy access for those who deserve to be here, and Congress needs to get it done.” He continued, “It’ll also give me, as President, the emergency authority to shut down the border until it could get back under control. If that bill were the law today, I’d shut down the border right now and fix it quickly.”

People are now questioning the Christian aspects of the convoy

One Reddit poster wondered, “Odd, most of the people crossing the border are Christian, wouldn’t God want them here… or are they the wrong color Christian.” Another pondered, “You’d think God of all people (?) would be a globalist. He did create the entire planet and everything on it, right?”

“Mexicans are Christians”

Another Reddit poster shared the same concerns, “Mexicans are Christians. Why do they want to stop Christians from entering the country?” One cited several quotes from the Bible, while another expressed, “Terrifying people who take extreme interpretations on words like “peacemaker.'”

Going down to South Park

One person half-joked, “They do the complete opposite of Jesus. Army of God trucker convoy?? I feel like we’re in an eternal South Park episode.” while another proclaimed, “Just like Jesus!!!” This person admitted, “I’m no biblical scholar, but I’m pretty sure the story of the life of Jesus started with refugees seeking shelter.”

Calling out Trump

Someone on Reddit stated, “The very people who refuse to lift a finger to help the situation at the border is Trump and the GOP. Trump has told the party not to work with Democrats and instead to leave the borders open until he gets into office.” Another added, “Fascism wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.” More on Vice
