Lauren Boebert accused of “seat hopping” and flip-flopping by her Republican challenger

Boebert switched congressional districts in Colorado and chose a more conservative one, resulting in backlash from inside the Republican party.

Colorado’s 3rd congressional district was headed for an exciting election season, likely with Boebert facing Democrat Adam Frisch again. However, Frisch outraised her massively, which could be why Boebert switched districts. She did not say that, though many are questioning her reasons.

In a video announcing the switch from the 3rd to 4th congressional district, Boebert said she would enter GOP’s primary in retiring representative Ken Buck’s seat. She called the decision a “fresh start” and added, “The Aspen donors, George Soros, and Hollywood actors that are trying to buy this seat, well, they can go pound sand.”

Trent Leisy, a GOP candidate in the fourth district, shared on X,” Lauren Boebert has officially given the Democrats a Congressional seat by switching districts to run in my race. This move would give the Democrats control of the House.”

Leisy counted, “Lauren should be a fighter and keep her district red! In Congress, I would NEVER vote to expand FISA, and I am running in a district that I actually live in.”

Leisy, a Navy veteran, spoke to Newsweek about Boebert’s switch, “Lauren’s political move is to secure a career seat in [Washington] D.C. as she knows CD [Colorado District] 4 is a very conservative district.” He continued, “She is doing exactly what she has attacked [former Democratic House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi on, which is being a lifelong career politician.”

The Navy veteran said that Boebert’s current district was “weakening” and added, “She doesn’t represent her current constituents and does not represent my constituents in CD4, which is why she is seat hopping.” Leisy continued, “She is a flip-flopper and has become out of touch with America First constituents by voting alongside RINO representatives.”

Leisy declared love for Trump

The veteran announced he would run for the district in June before Buck announced he would not seek reelection. Leisy also told Newsweek, “I’m not in this for fame or money. I’m in this because I love President Trump and love this country.” And speaking of Trump, Leisy made headlines following the Colorado ruling to bar the former president off the ballot.

Leisy declared the Judges should be tried for treason

After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision that the former president violated the 14th Amendment by engaging in insurrection, Leisy, a councilman in Weld County, said the Judge should be “tried for treason.”

The Trump-loving Republican added, “And for their sake, I hope it’s not an all-Republican-appointed court that oversee their cases.” On his Facebook, the veteran named the four Judges who faced death threats following their decision. Leisy also had questions for Congress and the DOJ.

More accusations of treason

On Facebook, Leisy wondered why Congress, the “judicial system,” and the Department of Justice “ignored the stolen 2020 election.” He added, “Because it would’ve exposed them of TREASON, as well!” and called out the Judges once again over their ruling, which he referred to as “unlawful, unconstitutional & pure treason!”

Trump labeled Buck as “a weak and ineffective Super RINO [Republican In Name Only].” But Leisy’s statement made it clear that he is team Trump, as it said, “I want to clarify one thing: Rightful President Trump has my full endorsement,” He continued, “President Trump is and has always been the clear leader of the Republican Party.”

The Navy veteran counted he would introduce legislation allowing for the U.S. president to serve three terms, citing Trump’s 2020 loss over “a fraudulent election.” He called for other Colorado’s 4th Congressional District candidates to join him in fighting and defending Trump.
