Fox News host Jesse Watters talked to South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem following Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into President Biden’s classified documents case and the press conference that followed.
“Insane press conference”
Watters introduced Noem and declared, “We’re gonna turn around some of the soundbites from that insane press conference we just witnessed where the president almost looked like he was going to jump across and hit somebody for asking him a question.”
“Emotional Biden”
Watters continued, but not before mixing up South Dakota with South Carolina. When Noem spoke up, she said the President was “emotional,” adding, “A statement would’ve been better. And this only made it a much, much worse situation for him. After this report came out, he just came out and proved he has diminished capacity.”
Noem doubled down
The Republican Governor continued, “He couldn’t even refer to the right country with the right President in the right conflict and the right war. It was, wow, it was a lot.” Noem added that she thinks it was “amazing” that “we as Republicans have to get smart and realize what’s going to happen in this next election; I don’t think they replace him.”
The Governor’s theory
Noem said that she has been thinking about this: “I’ve been in my brain, thinking they’re going to figure out a way to do what they did during COVID-19.” The South Dakota Governor continued, “During COVID-19, there was a crisis, an emergency, and a disaster. And they issued an emergency order, and they are going to it.”
2024 predictions
Noem continued, I think in 2024, something will happen, whether manufactured or not, that will allow these governors in all these states to a right emergency orders to conduct their elections however they want to.” She added how “all these liberal governors that got re-elected in these swing states are going to write emergency orders to run their elections however they want to.”
Watters got more heat than Noem
Justin Baragona from the Daily Beast posted on X the clip, writing, “After mocking Biden for his press conference where he addressed questions about his memory, Fox News host Jesse Watters then welcomes on ‘South Carolina Governor Kristi Noem.’ She’s, of course, the Governor of South Dakota.”
Many called it “karma”
The viral video amused X commentators, with one person writing, “Sounds about like karma moved swiftly to Jesse.” Another posted a laughing emoji and “karma damn.” Someone shared “nuclear level” and added a photo with the word “schadenfreude,” or pleasure derived by someone from another person’s misfortune.
Noem continued blasting Biden on X
In one post, the GOP Governor wrote, “Joe Biden proved tonight what the Special Counsel said. His mental capacity is clearly diminished. He claimed that President Sisi (from Egypt) is President of Mexico!”
Backing Trump
In another, Noem, who is said to be a possible Trump’s running mate, wrote, “The Republican Party needs to wake up and unify behind @realdonaldtrump. We have to be smart and vigilant.” She added, “Liberal Democrat governors in these key swing states (Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) will look for any excuse to rewrite the rules and stop President Trump from winning.”
Previously, Noem criticized Biden over borders
Noem asked on X, “What will it take for Joe Biden to realize this is a national security crisis?” She counted, “Over 1 million illegals immigrants have crossed our Southern Border since Oct. 1, including known criminals and dangerous people on the terrorist watch list. This is the earliest we’ve EVER crossed that milestone.”
Standing with Texas
Noem called the border crisis an “invasion” and said during a joint session of the South Dakota Legislature, “Murders are being committed by cartel members on the Pine Ridge Reservation, and in Rapid City, and a gang called the Ghost Dancers are affiliated with these cartels.” The Governor added, “They have been successful in recruiting tribal members to join their criminal activity.”
Noem’s warning
Noem previously suggested if President Joe Biden tries to federalize Texas National Guard forces, it could lead to a civil war. She told Fox News in a February 4 interview, “If he’s willing to do that and take away my authority as governor as commander-in-chief of those National Guard, boy, we do have a war on our hands.”
Noem on being Trump’s VP pick
During the same interview, Noem did not reveal anything about her being potentially Trump’s running mate. Instead, she said, “We talk all the time, but we’ve never had that conversation.”
