Trump’s Christmas message suggested President Biden should “go to hell,” among other things, and he fought back by offering the former president “love” and blessings.
Biden fires back
The President shared on X, “There’s an expression they say in church sometimes: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Biden’s sneaky shade
President Biden’s comment would have been perfectly innocent if he had not included a link to an article titled, “Former President Trump: ‘May they rot in Hell. Merry Christmas.'”
Trump’s strange Christmas message
The 45th president and likely 2024 Republican nominee wished everyone a Merry Christmas on Truth Social, writing, “Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against ‘TRUMP’
and ‘MAGA.'”
But, there was more
Trump had more to add, “Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and “sick” as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Mulvaney slammed Trump
A former Republican representative who served as director of the Office of Management and Budget under Trump, Mick Mulvaney, told on “The Hill on NewsNation” that Trump’s message was “horrible.” However, he elaborated, “If you don’t like that kind of stuff, you’ve already made up your mind that you’re probably not supporting Donald Trump anyway.”
Michigan Democrat called Trump “pathetic”
Democratic Representative Debbie Dingell called Trump’s Christmas message “pathetic” and elaborated, “Quite frankly, I gonna tell you that, I think it was one of the most pathetic Christmas greetings I’ve heard when a former president of the United States who wants to return tells people on Christmas day that they can ‘rot in hell.”
Trump fired back
The ex-president called Dingell a “loser,” so she took the fight to X, where she wrote, “We cannot ignore hateful, dangerous rhetoric, as much as we may want to. It is becoming too commonplace and being normalized. The use of ‘rot in hell’ in a Christmas message — a time for kindness, love, and peace — reminds us we cannot become desensitized.”
How Biden’s Christmas message compared to Trump’s
The President took to X to say, “This Christmas Eve, my wish for you and your family is that you take a few moments of quiet reflection and find that stillness that’s at the center of the Christmas story. May you find peace in this silent night. And warmth from those surrounding you.”
Biden also called out Haley
The President linked an X post of a Republican presidential hopeful that read, “Asked what caused the Civil War, Nikki Haley refuses to mention slavery: “What do you want me to say about slavery? Next question.'” Biden responded simply, “It was about slavery.”
Trump’s other message was quite different
The former President posted a video saying, in part, “In this holy time of year, Christians everywhere give thanks that over 2,000 years ago, God sent his only son into the world to be the savior of all mankind. The birth of Jesus Christ is the true miracle we celebrate each Christmas.”
The clip continued
Trump should have probably kept only this message, which continued, “We ask God to guide us, give us strength, and watch over us in this pivotal year ahead. With His help, by this time next year, we will be well on our way to making America safer, stronger, greater, and more prosperous than ever before.”
Family vacation
The Biden family went on holiday in the U.S. Virgin Islands and is set to be back in D.C. on January 2, 2024. The New York reporter said, “When he arrived in St. Croix on Wednesday, Mr. Biden ignored questions from reporters about the surge of migrants at the southern border.”
