Biden ‘Continues to Play Chicken with Our Lives’ While ‘Body Bags Pile Up’, Ex-Democrat Claims

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat now running as an Independent, has sharply criticized President Joe Biden for “playing chicken with our lives” as “body bags pile up”.

Kennedy lambasted Biden’s immigration policies and the increasingly troubled southern border with Mexico. He calls the current situation a “crisis” and “unsustainable,” suggesting it’s a “deliberate political move”.

In a pointed message on X, previously known as Twitter, Kennedy highlighted the Biden administration’s immigration record.

He also shared a petition urging Biden to secure the border, saying, “The crisis at the border is unsustainable. The body bags keep piling up. Drugs and human trafficking run rampant. Our cities and towns are overrun and strained to the max.”

Kennedy continued, “The number of illegal migrants in the United States has roughly doubled under President Biden. Under his watch, the number of people taken into custody by the US Border Patrol has reached an average of 2 million per year – the highest levels in the agency’s 100-year history.”

Adding to his critique, Kennedy said, “President Biden continues to play chicken with our lives and refuses to use executive authority to secure the border. In fact, he walked back many of the restrictions that were keeping the crisis under control before he took office.

“This is a deliberate political move.”

The former Democrat further claimed, “Biden has held office for 50 years; he’s playing dumb when pretends he doesn’t know what to do. And he’s playing politics when he ties border security to overseas war funding. Enough is enough.”

Addressing Decades-Old Issues

Earlier this month, President Biden acknowledged the flaws in the immigration system and pledged to address them.

During a campaign event in Henderson, Nevada, he remarked, “For too long, going back decades, the immigration system has been broken. It’s time to fix it.”

In his statement on February 4, President Biden mentioned that two months prior, he had directed his administration to collaborate with a bipartisan group of Senators to earnestly and comprehensively tackle the immigration issue.

He pointed out that his team had been dedicatedly working non-stop, even during holidays and weekends, to achieve this goal.

As a result of these efforts, they reached a consensus on a bipartisan national security deal, which Biden emphasized includes the most robust and equitable border reforms seen in many years.

Biden expressed his strong support for this deal “the toughest and fairest set of border reforms in decades. I strongly support it.”

Enhancing National Security

He also stated that the agreement would significantly enhance national safety and security, fortify border controls, and ensure the treatment of people in a fair and humane manner, all while upholding the principles of legal immigration that align with the nation’s values.

Joe Biden added that “as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed. It will make our asylum process fairer and more efficient while protecting the most vulnerable.”

In a February 6 statement, President Biden further noted that he had initiated a process several months ago, instructing his team to engage in negotiations with a bipartisan group of senators with the aim of comprehensively addressing and repairing the U.S. immigration system.

“It’s been an extraordinary effort by Senators Lankford, Murphy, and Sinema,” he added.

Biden described the outcome of these negotiations as a “ bipartisan agreement that represents the most fair, humane reforms in our immigration system in a long time and the toughest set of reforms to secure the border ever. “

The Blame Game

The President, however, expressed disappointment that, despite these efforts, the bill is unlikely to advance to the Senate floor, attributing this impasse directly to Donald Trump, whom he accused of opposing the bill for personal political gain rather than considering the country’s benefit.

“He’s not for it.  He’d rather weaponize this issue than actually solve it,” Biden claimed.
