10 Ways Trump’s Second Term Could Be More Extreme Than The First

Could Trump’s second term end democracy? No one knows for sure, but based on some of his statements, whispers, and various groups, like Project 25, it is likely that the former president’s second term would be so radical that it would make the first one appear tame.

Targeting the DOJ and the FBI

CBS News contributor Enrique Acevedo asked Trump: “You say they’ve weaponized the Justice Department, they weaponized the FBI. Would you do the same if you’re reelected?” He responded, “If they do this, and they’ve already done it, but if they want to follow through on this, yeah, it could certainly happen in reverse. It could certainly happen in reverse. What they’ve done is they’ve released the genie out of the box.”

Trump said something similar on Lindell TV, “Doing what they did – using the DOJ & FBI to go after their political opponent .. that means that I can do it too. In other words, the Pandora’s box is open, and that means that I can do it too.”

The faith of the U.S. in NATO

Trump complained about the U.S. paying more than any other country in NATO. He did not mention that the alliance reacted only once in its history, and it was after 9/11. But, what’s more concerning were Trump’s comments that he would encourage Russia to do “whatever the hell they want” to member countries that do not meet defense spending goals.

John Bolton, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, warned that Trump will throw Ukraine to Putin, “Endanger Taiwan’s independence and embolden China,” and “Reunite with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.”

Banning abortions and going further

Trump is often bragging that he overturned Roe vs. Wade. He also proclaimed to be “the most pro-life president” in history, which is why anti-abortion groups are confident that Trump will overturn all Biden’s decisions. A New York Times report said that Trump is for a 16-week ban with exceptions, but that allegations faced backlash from the same anti-abortion groups.

Project 25 writes in its manual that “liberal states have now become sanctuaries for abortion tourism,” so “HHS should use every available tool, including the cutting of funds, to ensure that every state reports exactly how many abortions take place within its borders, at what gestational age of the child, for what reason, the mother’s state of residence, and by what method.”

Abolishing Department of Education

In September 2023, Trump said at a rally, “We’re going to end education coming out of Washington, DC. We’re going to close it up – all those buildings all over the place and people that, in many cases, hate our children.” He added, “We need to implement strict prohibitions on teaching inappropriate racial, sexual, and political material to America’s schoolchildren in any form whatsoever.” Project 25 writes, “The federal Department of Education should be eliminated.”

Going after the left-leaning and left-wing media

Kash Patel, a former adviser, and Trump’s ally, told the former White House strategist Steve Bannon that a new Trump administration “will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government but in the media” and “come after them.”

President Biden reportedly told Katie Couric, “Two of your former colleagues not at the same network personally told me if he wins, they will have to leave the country because he’s threatened to put them in jail.” This should not come as a surprise, considering that Trump blasted numerous left-wing or left-leaning media.

Redefining the federal government

In March 2023, Trump said, “We will clean out all of the corrupt actors in our National Security and Intelligence apparatus, and there are plenty of them.” He continued, “The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled so that faceless bureaucrats will never again be able to target and persecute conservatives, Christians, or the left’s political enemies.” According to numerous sources, Project 25 is already working on finding loyalists so the federal government would work for Trump and his allies.

Eliminating climate change programs

The Inflation Reduction Act, signed by President Biden in 2022, will likely be the first to go. The U.S.’s exit from the historic 2015 Paris climate agreement in 2020 will probably be repeated, but that’s not all. In January 2024, Trump stated, “We are going to drill, baby, drill,” and according to Project 2025, decades of research will be destroyed.

Additional taxes on imported goods

Until January 2020, the Trump administration imposed tariffs on 16.8% of all goods imported into the U.S. The Washington Post reported that Trump wants to create a “ring around the U.S. economy,” which alarmed economists. Chris Clarke, an economist at Washington State University, told the Post, “Producers would have higher costs, and now all the consumers are paying higher prices for goods that used to be imported.”

Last August, Trump said on Fox, “When companies come in, and they dump their products in the United States, they should pay, automatically, let’s say, a 10-percent tax.”

Flying instead of electric cars

In March 2023, Trump described a “new American future” and added he would build 10 new cities. He declared, “We’ll actually build new cities in our country again,” adding, “These freedom cities will reopen the frontier, reignite American imagination, and give hundreds of thousands of young people and other people, all hardworking families, a new shot at home ownership and, in fact, the American dream.”

The cities would feature flying cars despite Trump’s overwhelming disapproval of electric vehicles. In Bedminster, Trump said, “This ridiculous Green New Deal crusade is causing car prices to skyrocket while setting the stage for the destruction of American auto production.” He added, “I saved the American auto industry once, and now, I will save it again.” But that’s not all. On Truth Social, Trump’s Christmas message concluded with, “All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL.”

Trump’s migration plans

The New York Times reported on X, “Donald Trump plans to expand his immigration crackdown if he returns to power in 2025, including rounding people up in giant camps for mass deportation.” Trump’s first term saw a Muslim ban, but his rhetoric toward migrants grew more unhinged.

In February 2024, Trump compared migrants to Hannibal Lecter and said that they are coming from “insane asylums” during a CPAC event. Trump declared, “We have a new category of migrant crime, and it’s going to be more severe than violent crime and crime as we know it,” and added, “Because we have millions and millions of people, and they came from prisons and jails. They came from mental institutions and insane.”

There are many gruesome predictions regarding Trump’s second term, so checking Project 25 might be a good start. It also helps to listen to Trump’s campaign promises while checking out what other Republicans have to say to get a clearer picture and separate facts from fiction.
