Shortly after beginning his speech at the Get Out the Vote Rally, with the state’s GOP primary looming at month’s end, Trump delved into a rant about a civil fraud trial.

This trial concluded with the former President facing a hefty fine of approximately $355 million and a three-year ban on conducting business in New York.

In his speech, he also brought up the Carroll case verdict.

On January 26, a New York City jury ruled that Donald Trump must pay Carroll $83.3 million for remarks he made in 2019, denying claims that he sexually assaulted the ex-Elle columnist in the mid-1990s.

This verdict followed a separate 2023 decision by a jury finding Trump guilty of sexually abusing Carroll and defaming her when he labeled her accusation a ‘con job’ in a Truth Social post from October 2022.

Carroll received $5 million in damages then, but Trump dismissed the verdict as part of ‘the greatest witch hunt of all time.’ Continuing his public denouncement of Carroll, she initiated a second defamation lawsuit against him.

During his discussion of ongoing legal issues at a rally on Saturday, Trump seemingly mocked Carroll.

He questioned the audience, “How about the one two weeks ago? A woman, I’m saying, ‘Who the hell is she? Who is the woman?’ It’s so unfair what’s happening in our country. Our court system is a mess. What’s happening in our country, they have to straighten it out.”

These remarks about Carroll at the Michigan rally were highlighted by his critics on social media. A brief 16-second clip of Trump’s words garnered over 620,000 views on X, previously known as Twitter, within hours, shared by journalist Aaron Rupar.

Assault Allegations

“Trump attacks E Jean Carroll, who he was found liable of assaulting and has repeatedly defamed: ‘I’m saying, who the hell is she? Who’s the woman,” Rupar stated on X.

Call for Another Round

On X, several voices are calling for Carroll to take legal action against Trump once more. Ron Filipkowski, the editor-in-chief of the ‘pro-democracy’ media outlet Meidas Touch, posted, “Time for E. Jean Carroll v Trump Lawsuit #3!”

Renewed Suit Against Trump?

Harry Sisson shared on X, “Holy crap. Donald Trump just attacked E. Jean Carroll AGAIN. Even after a jury found that he sexually abused and defamed her, he continues to repeat debunked claims. A new suit needs to be filed against him. I’m ready for Carroll v. Trump 3!!!”

Another X user named Spiro’s Ghost expressed,  “Holy s…. She needs to sue him AGAIN.”

Amidst this criticism, fervent supporters of Trump and the MAGA ideology continue to fiercely oppose Carroll’s lawsuits, labeling the recent verdict as unfair and a scheme to disrupt his presidential campaign.

Nine-Member Jury Decides

The substantial civil verdict against Trump, following Carroll’s $5 million win last year for sexual abuse and defamation, was reached swiftly by a nine-member jury in Manhattan’s U.S. District Court.

Trump, absent from the court during the unanimous decision on damages, quickly announced his intent to appeal via social media.

Carroll hailed the verdict as a triumph for women standing against bullies, echoed by her lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, who emphasized that the law applies to all, including the wealthy and former presidents.

Awarded Millions

Carroll received $7.3 million for emotional distress and $11 million for reputational harm, with an additional $65 million in punitive damages, as Trump’s 2019 statement about her was deemed malicious and spiteful.

Trump has maintained in those comments and others that followed, that he never met Carroll, implying that her claim was a ploy to boost book sales, and claimed that she was not ‘my type.’
