Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene faces criticism online for backing truck drivers planning to protest the financial penalty imposed on former President Donald Trump by the New York Supreme Court.
Judicial Decision
On February 16, the court’s 92-page decision, authored by Justice Arthur Engoron, mandated that Trump and his organization pay over $355 million in fines.
Prohibitions Imposed
The ruling also prevents the former president and his sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., from holding executive positions in New York-based corporations for up to three years.
Truckers Boycott NYC
A group of truck drivers aligned with former President Trump has declared they won’t be driving to New York City in protest of the court’s decision.
“I stand with Trump”‘
“I’m just one of the many millions of Truckers who believe in God and love this Country,” a trucker known as “Chicago Ray,” wrote on X. “I stand with Trump bc Trump stands with me. Truckers for Trump ain’t just a slogan, it’s real.”
Delivery Boycott
Chicago Ray made the statement on February 16 following the ruling, urging fellow truckers to refrain from delivering shipments to New York City.
Denying Loads
Ray added, “I don’t know how far across the country this is or how many truckers are going to start denying loads going to New York City, but I’ll tell you what — you f— around and find out.”
Leave Trump Alone
The truck driver reiterated a caution, asserting that Trump should be left alone and condemning the New York City fraud investigation against him as “election interference.”
A True Patriot
“Thank you for being a true Patriot! If all of us patriots stand up, we will make a difference. We have to push back against the ones trying to purposely destroy our country,” commented a user on the post.
Greene’s Support
Greene also shared a message from a conservative portal, The Gateway Pundit, on social media, indicating that truckers might halt deliveries to New York City.
Threats to Stop Deliveries
Gateway Pundit message stated, “American truckers are now reportedly threatening to stop deliveries into New York City over the grotesque $364 million judgment against President Trump and his sons Don Jr and Eric by partisan hack Judge Engoron on Friday.”
Weaponized Government
The caption of Greene’s post read, “The American people have far more power than they realize and they can stop the weaponized government when they boldly stand together and make it stop.”

The online community expressed dismay at Greene’s position, with criticisms highlighting her misalignment with her congressional duties and accusing her of promoting actions detrimental to Americans.

One user highlighting Greene’s stance on the issue noted, “That’s not your job. Your job, which you took an oath to uphold, is to the American people, not to a man that tried to overthrow the US Government, found liable for rape, impeached twice, and found liable for fraud. You are using your position in government to push an action to hurt good people, therefore, weaponization. #MakeAmericaSafeAgain.”

Another stated, “So you’re encouraging this? What do you think it’s gonna do apart from having shortages of supplies. We will suffer because of this ! What do the truckers think is gonna happen. The judge will negate his ruling? @RepMTG is a fear monger and we r SICK of it!”

A third used wrote, “Good. Now out of work truck drivers who aren’t MAGA can get some good jobs. How many MAGA are willing to endanger their families’ welfare to show their loyalty for a con man? I’m betting not very many. We shall see.”
