Kayleigh McEnany Drops a Bombshell with a Surprising Trump VP Pick Amidst Applause: ‘Bring on That Guy!’

Despite some dismissive remarks from Donald Trump, Kayleigh “Milktoast” McEnany remains unshaken, continuing to offer advice to her former boss.

On Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” the ex-White House press secretary proposed a rather unexpected running mate for Trump – Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Youngkin, a relative newcomer in politics who assumed office in 2022 and received Trump’s endorsement, has kept a measured distance from the MAGA crowd.

The Need for Independent Appeal

McEnany emphasized the need for a candidate appealing to independents, stating, “We don’t know what [Democrats] have planned, so we need someone who can bring in independents.

“I’m going to throw a name out there: Glenn Youngkin.”

Her pick received applause from the studio audience, and she elaborated on her choice, citing Youngkin’s positive numbers versus Biden’s negative ones in the state

On the show, host Greg Gutfeld expressed his curiosity about whether Glenn Youngkin, known for his likable, vest-donning ex-college basketball player,  could effectively partner with Trump. McEnany responded with assurance, saying, “I think so.”

A Perfect Match?

She supported her stance with strong figures, pointing out, “But Glenn Youngkin can do it. Look, Biden’s down 17 in the state, Glenn Youngkin’s up 24 – bring on that guy!”

Will Trump React?

So far, Trump has remained silent on McEnany’s latest commentary, but his track record suggests he might soon weigh in. In the past, he quickly rebutted her after she advised a more general-election-oriented tone at the end of the New Hampshire primary.

Trump Unimpressed

Former President Trump didn’t take kindly to Kayleigh McEnany’s strategy for unifying the Republican Party, shared during Fox News’ coverage of the New Hampshire primary.

“I would suggest that adopting a general election tone is what you do at this point, and here’s why I say this: This was actually a fairly good night for Joe Biden. When you look at our voter analysis, only 10 percent said I would not vote for Joe Biden if he’s the nominee. He won a plurality of voters who said he was too old; he won a majority of voters who were upset about the Gaza war,” McEnany said.

Tips for Trump

“If I’m Trump, I sit back and I exclusively focus on the general election. I take the posture of a presumptive nominee. I focus on, No. 1, uniting the party, and No. 2, winning the independents, which Nikki Haley won 55-39 percent. That’s what I would do,” she added.

Vocal Discontent

Her comments, initially highlighted by Mediaite, drew a sharp reaction from Trump, who took to Truth Social to express his discontent.

“I don’t need any advice from RINO Kayleigh McEnany on Fox,” Trump shared on his Truth Social platform. “Just had a GIANT VICTORY over a badly failing candidate, ‘Birdbrain,’ and she’s telling me what I can do better. Save your advice for Nikki!”

A Small Mistake

Previously in May 2023, Trump nicknamed McEnany “milktoast” for a minor error in quoting poll numbers on Fox News. “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews,” he posted. “I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34.”

A Big Trump Reaction

Trump’s critique of Kayleigh McEnany over a slight 4% poll number error seems overly harsh, especially when most polls have a margin of error around 5%.

Trump wrote in a follow-up post, “She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”
