A convoy named ‘God’s Army’ recently rallied in Dripping Spring, Texas, and is now headed to Eagle Pass to support local law enforcement, as they claim.
‘God’s Army’ Rallies in Texas
The Dripping Spring rally, featuring rock musician Ted Nugent and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, has so far attracted several hundred attendees. Researchers indicate that members of the Proud Boys, neo-Nazi factions, and militias are also participating in the convoy.
The World Watches
Palin spoke on the matter, saying, “The eyes of the world are on Texas right now. Now, more than ever, it’s required of us to stand up and fight for what’s right.
Treasonous Policies?
Palin also criticized the federal government’s handling of immigration, saying, “It’s unconscionable, it’s is treasonous what our federal government is doing to us is actually sanctioning and invasion.”
The $160K Funded Convoy
With around 50 vehicles, the convoy made its way to Dripping Spring, having gathered a fund of $160,000. The organizers challenge what they see as ‘globalist’ efforts to maintain an open U.S.-Mexico border, encouraging participation from active and retired members of law enforcement, the military, veterans, and other ‘LAW ABIDING, freedom-loving Americans.’
Campaign Against Open Borders
Their campaign, detailed in a Jan. 12 news release, focuses on exposing the perceived threats of unsecured Southern borders.
This initiative coincides with an ongoing legal controversy involving the White House, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and the Supreme Court regarding Texas’ border security measures, including the use of razor wire.
Razor Wire Controversy
After Texas initiated legal action against the federal government for the removal of razor wire by Border Patrol agents, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Biden administration.
Narrow Victory for Biden
Despite the Supreme Court’s narrow 5-4 decision, Governor Abbott remained resolute in his stance on border security. Taking to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, he expressed his determination to persist in the fight.
Abbott is Not Done Yet
“This is not over,” Abbott declared on a Monday evening, emphasizing, “Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property.”
25 GOP Governors Back Abbott
In a show of unity, 25 Republican governors recently backed Governor Abbott for his efforts to safeguard Americans against record levels of illegal immigration, the influx of dangerous drugs like fentanyl, and potential terrorist threats.
Alarming Border Encounters
These GOP governors also pointed out flaws in President Joe Biden’s border management, highlighting the ongoing issue of illegal immigration, as evidenced by December’s record-breaking 302,034 southern border encounters, as reported by Customs and Border Protection.
Far-Right Convoy Vows Peace
Organizers of the convoy, which originated from far-right extremist groups and is en route to the Texas-Mexico border, have vowed to maintain peace throughout their journey.
Virginia to Texas
The convoy, named ‘Take our Border Back,’ began in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with a modest number of vehicles but grew over time. Its final stop is Quemado, Texas, located just 20 miles from Eagle Pass, where the Texas National Guard currently occupies a public park and is denying entry to Border Patrol agents.
U.S. officials closely monitor the situation, gathering open-source intelligence on the trucker convoy.
‘Great Replacement Theory’
Another orator, Michael Yon, who frequently features on Steve Bannon’s ‘War Room’ podcast, advocated beliefs linked to the unfounded ‘great replacement theory,’ which suggests a deliberate plan to supplant the White populace in the U.S. and globally.
Historical Comparison
Pete Chambers, one of the convoy’s leaders, appeared on Alex Jones’ InfoWars and shared the convoy plans. He stressed out his aim to unite with law enforcement officers who adhere to the Constitution and stated, ‘We’re at 1774 right now.’
Violent Future?
Freddy Cruz from the Western States Center, a group advocating for democracy, voiced concerns about the potential for future violence against migrants due to the white supremacist rhetoric from convoy participants and speakers at the recent rally.
